If so, you must have heard of Hector Barbossa, Captain of the Black Pearl! Hector Barbossa was a legendary, skilled pirate and the nemesis of Captain Jack Sparrow. At times, he was treacherous and deceitful. He was a master of his own fate. Blimey, returned from the dead. He tends to honor the Pirate’s Code. He was ruthless, cunning, and intelligent. He first joined the crew aboard the Black Pearl as Captain Jack Sparrow’s first mate. Hector Barbossa then led a revolt against Captain Jack Sparrow and marooned him before finding the treasure at Isla de Muerta. That is how he became captain of the Black Pearl. Later he became the captain of the Queen Anne’s Revenge after killing Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, the former captain of the ship.
